- Dad's name was changed when he was in the army as well. It was done by mistake by the pay master but was kept as Claude was taking Charles pay as a Sergeant instead of his own as a gunner. They would get the 2 C Repington's mixed up until it was cleared up by the number of "P's" in the name.
Dad did say that someone in the family did have the last name Repton at one time.
