... 'the area of the Chepe' ... 'Beyond Bow Church were the shops of the mercers' ... 'Poultry ran into an open space called the Stocks Market with stalls of fishmongers, butchers and poulterers.'
This seems to be the main reason for the Rippingtons being in London - being fishmongers and various other mercers, this is obviously where they plied their trade.
