Notes

  • Princes Risborough Baptism Transcripts
    August 12, 1810
    b. June 17 1810
Rippington William son of John & Rebecca lab
  • William throughout his life stated his birthdate as between 1819 and 1823, except on the 1871 Census where it is correctly listed as 1810 ... the reason for this is not known.
The provenance for this being the person born in 1810 is that his Father is stated to be John (labourer) on his marriage certificate - there being no other John Rippington with a son born in Princes Risborough.
  • Death Record Name  William Rippington
    Year of Registration  1886
    Quarter of Registration  Jan-Feb-Mar
    Registration District  Watford
    Registration County  Hertfordshire
    Age at Death:  66
    Volume Number  3A
    Volume Page  359
  • Note that in 1851 William and Jane were working at the Queens Head in Denham - this is not the same pub as the present Queens Head in Uxbridge.
Referring to the 1851 census it was located somewhere in the outskirts of Denham village, but according to the pubshistory.com web site it was closed sometime after 1863 and is not on the 1871 census - hence it is not shown on the attached 1875 map.
